Mohawk Networks and North Country Broadband have an upcoming planned network outage. We’re performing system upgrades in the early morning hours of Tuesday, February 21, 2017 between 2am-6am EST. During this upgrade window, you should expect that your Broadband services (Internet, Telephone & Video) will be offline. We urge you to make other plans for phone and emergency communications during this time. We are working to minimize the length of time that the network is down; however, it is likely that there will be a series of outages throughout the entire maintenance window (2am – 6am EST) as we perform the necessary upgrades.
The upgrades during this planned network outage will result in a number of network improvements.
Here is a summarization of the benefits of the planned upgrade:
- We are streamlining our Internet traffic. As a result, customers will notice Internet speed increases. This will be most noticeable among our residential customers in Akwesasne, NY.
- This upgrade will allow us to accommodate future growth to our customer base. This will permit us to grow, without affecting the Internet speeds of our current customers.
- To better address network failure issues outside of our realm of control, as were experienced last week, we are building in some redundant routing into our system. By doing so, we can minimize the impact of outages on our customers.
Thank you for your continued support and your patience during this planned network outage, as we strive to improve our network.
We are looking forward to these system enhancements and your improved online experiences which will result from them, as we continue to grow into 2017 and beyond.
